Volunteers are an important element within a successful organization and ArtReach has many volunteer opportunities available. ArtReach is always looking for help in administration, artist workshop assistants, escorts and special events with opportunities that can accommodate any schedule.

All prospective ArtReach volunteers will be placed based on availability, interests, skill level and experience. Orientation allows volunteers to become familiar with ArtReach’s mission, programs, policies and procedures. Volunteers will review job descriptions in detail with a staff person and will go over any training that may be needed. All ArtReach volunteers are subject to a background check.

Volunteer Opportunities

Community Participation Assistant/Intern
CP Assistants will aid the Community Participation coordinator in organizing special events, research current individual donors and prospective monetary/ticket donors. CP assistant will work within the donor database processing individual/workplace contributions. Skills must include minimal computer background experience within a Mac environment.

Development Assistant/Intern
Assists Development Director in researching funding opportunities through foundations, government, and corporations. Keeps complete files on each prospect, with a spreadsheet and notebook for all research. Skills necessary are phone, computer, and Internet with analytical skills helpful.

Arts Benefiting Kids Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant will assist with program evaluation forms. S/he will call and use email to contact agencies and artists that have not submitted forms as well as read and score forms, and extract comments witch testify to the programs impact, strengths, and weaknesses.

Arts Benefiting Kids Artists Workshop Assistants
The Artist Workshop Assistants work directly with workshop artists to facilitate workshop activities. The assistant represents ArtReach at designated visual art, music, theater, scientific and cultural workshops held in ArtReach affiliated agencies in the Denver Metro area. The assistant works with agency personnel and assesses and evaluates the impact of the workshop. Time commitments vary for each workshop, but most meet on average one hour to two hours a week for six to eight weeks. Must agree to have complete criminal background check and be fingerprinted. (Fingerprinting cost will be paid by ArtReach)

Community Tickets Box office Operators
The ArtReach Box Office is a ticketing and information outlet located inside the ArtReach office. Box Office Operators are the first line of customer service with greeting guests and answering phones. Box Office Operators are responsible for answering main phone, directing calls, greeting individuals as well as the daily operation of ticketing services, including taking reservations, preparing tickets for pick up, distributing reserved tickets, compiling wait lists and answering questions from guests and callers. This person will update cultural & community event site information, such as directions, accessibility, and general information. Responsibilities also include updating working with the website and updating links to cultural & community event site. Time commitments vary, but volunteers should be available at least four hours a week on a regular basis.

Community Tickets Theatre Escorts
ArtReach Theatre Escorts work with the Community Tickets Coordinator to ensure strong ArtReach representation at cultural events. The escort facilitates smooth ticket distribution to attending agency groups as well as assist ArtReach ticket patrons with special needs. Escorts are responsible for submitting a short report on the number of tickets used and/or any problems. Escorts receive two complimentary tickets to the event they are escorting.

Appreciation Coordinator
The Appreciation Coordinator supports the Community Tickets coordinator in thanking ticket donors for their contributions and following up with agencies on their event thank you letters. This person is responsible for accepting and filing thank you notes and reminding those agencies to send thank you notes. This person will also compile ticket reports for each ticket donor, include thank you notes, and deliver or send reports to ticket donors. The ETD is also responsible for sending a thank you with corresponding donation form to each ticket donor.

Organizational Artwork Operator
The organizational operator assures that the office is well organized and visually appealing to the public. This person will assist with the mating and hanging of artwork. The AOA helps the programs director coordinate and organize the Arts benefiting Kids ArtShow in the Spring. Following the show they will organize all artwork, art archives and supplies.

Ticket Courier
Pick up tickets from organizations, Monday and/or Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Programs Committee
Assist Staff in analyzing and evaluating current programs for the organization, as well as selecting recipients from yearly applications. Evaluate programs and suggest policy changes to Board when needed and attend monthly Program Committee meetings.

Special Event Volunteer
Special events volunteers assist with events related to fundraising activities. Event volunteers are essential in assisting with the planning, organizing and staffing of annual fundraising events. Event volunteers are also needed to contact and recruit other potential volunteers. In addition, volunteers act as ambassadors to the organization and serve as a source of information for the community to learn about ArtReach. Special event volunteers should possess strong communication skills and flexibility. Duties and time commitments vary depending on the event, commitment level and event assignment.
